Our Culture of Safety
We believe we have an obligation before the LORD to protect and care for vulnerable people, like children. We arrange our gatherings with this in mind.
Our church does not hold events where people are isolated in other rooms away from everyone else. Our gatherings are held in open spaces and we encourage parents to be actively supervising their children at all times. This is a strategy we employ to reduce the risk of vulnerable people being harmed.
In the rare times that we hold dedicated children’s activities, they are in open spaces, with qualified persons, with parents welcome to be present.
We encourage all regular attenders at Flooding Creek to undergo Safe Ministry awareness training through Safe Ministry Check.
We require people of particular roles (e.g. leadership and people working directly with children) to provide WWCC check and complete additional training through Safe Ministry Check.
We have a Safe Ministry policy, Incident Management Procedure, and two Safe Ministry contacts. As required we make mandatory reports to relevant government departments.
In addition to this we ordinarily have someone at our Sunday morning gatherings who is actively monitoring security concerns with relation to people coming and going.
If you need to get in touch with the Safe Ministry Contacts please use the church contact details.
